What is Mindfulness Training?
Mindfulness training includes mindfulness meditation (also known as insight or vipassana meditation) and the development of increased sensitivity/awareness of one's physical body in the present-moment . The principles of mindfulness are fundamental to many traditional meditative practices but are not to be confused with a religious practice.

 

Mindfulness Training Benefits
Medical research indicates that ongoing practice of mindfulness is beneficial for people experiencing anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and physical symptoms related to stress or disease. Through mindfulness training, we can learn to better accept, and gain increased freedom from the suffering brought on by our automatic thoughts and physical pain/stress responses. We can experience the joy of being fully present in our lives, learn from difficult times, and be open to greater compassion for ourselves and others.
